Today is Saturday and I learned something new again this week.

Well today has been interesting but before I get to today, I am going to back up to Friday night. I hadn't told you guys that when I started this I was at Maximum Velocity Track Camp in Danville, KY. Anyway, my son started doing the throws in track this year and I have never really done any of the throws because I was a jumper/sprinter. So as his coach this year, I have been pretty useless with this but thank the heavens, we had Mark Fortune to help us and he is dang good at teaching them. So flash forward to Friday during the day, we learn something I have only seen the Olympics, he hammer throw. I fell in love with this throw, there is some so primitive about swinging a heavy ball (16 lbs in my case) on a wire and seeing how far it will go. So I ended up throwing that on Friday night for the Bluegrass State Games and winning my age group. The throw was not really that good but 54 feet for something I just learned is a beginning. Next year, I am going to throw over 100 feet.
Today, we (Ryland and I) threw the shot put, Ryland seemed to do better even though he was below his PR and I threw for 23 feet and 1 inch in my first competition with the shot (again the 16 lbs monster). For anyone that is reading this, check out Master's Track in your area and see if you want to get involved. We had people from 6 to 80 at this meet and it is pretty fun to do honestly.
On a side note, my knee was giving me fits today after driving 5 hours, so I did 20 minutes on the glider to see if that would help.. seemed to for the time being.
Later ya'll

Wow I found out that there is a reality

June 12th

There are some days when you discover an universal truth that seemed to escape your notice for a long time. Well, today I really noticed how obese that I have become through the neglect I have bestowed on myself over the years.
Starting tomorrow I am going to begin the process that will get my weigh under control and my heath going in the right direction. A little over a year ago I was given a wakeup call by having a stint installed in one artery going to my heart, I did not listen. But today I finally heard, I am going to fix this and get all of it corrected.
